Jason is married to Erica Stogner Ard.  They have two children, Abigal and Toby.  Toby is married to Jessica White Ard.

                    For the first 20 years of my career, I experienced and learned various positions serving and protecting the people of Livingston Parish. I was honored when those very people elected me to serve as their Sheriff. 

My LPSO career started in 1993. I remember receiving my gear, it was better than any present on Christmas morning! That day, and every day since, I have been committed to doing my part to make Livingston Parish residents safe & proud of their communities. 

I want to share with those that may not know that I worked through the ranks of our law enforcement system. Beginning as a Prison Guard in Corrections, to Uniform Patrol, to UP Supervisor, to Detective, to SWAT Commander, to Training Officer, to Chief of Operations, to Chief Criminal Deputy (2006) I seized every available opportunity to learn, do more to improve and gain valuable skills and knowledge.

Since being elected, working alongside the men & women of the LPSO, the bar continues to be set higher for law enforcement standards. The people of Livingston Parish demand it of us, and We demand it of ourselves. As Sheriff, I’ve worked hard to create an environment that allows each of us to excel, to create, and grow in this ever- changing world of law enforcement with the safety of the deputies and the safety of our families at the forefront. 

I put God first in everything, and I encourage each of you to do the same. I love my family, Livingston Parish, and being your Sheriff. I represent the phenomenal work we all do here at the LPSO. As Sheriff, I am called to make a lot of decisions and I make them based on facts. Sometimes it will not be the popular decision, yet in my heart; it will always be the right decision for Livingston Parish and for this office.

With 30 years serving the people of Livingston, I am proud of what we have built. Just know, we are not done yet! I look forward in continuing my life long mission to make Livingston Parish the place we love to live, work and raise a family.
